Q: Who’s your favorite player now? Why?
A: My favorite player now is of course, Rodgers He is a Great quarter back and also a Great person. We are so very lucky to have him. He is great, but Favre was greater. He learned from the Best. Rodgers is also easy on the eyes. Lol.
Q: Your Sister Barb has made you over 45 Packer themed outfits. How did it start? How does she come up with the idea? Which one is your favorite and why?
A: My sister Barb has made me over 45 Handmade Packer costumes. It all started over 17 years ago, when I went to a few games and I saw only a few dressed up in Packer costumes. I thought, that looks like fun. My job as a RN doing Home Health and Hospice, was very rewarding, but could be very stressful. So I needed a fun outlet, to reduce stress. I was sitting in my kitchen and I looked on my wall and I had a Packer Angel on it. That my mother in law Betty bought for me. I said that is the costume, I need made. So our secretary at work made me the first one and my sister Barb made the rest. I come up mostly with the ideas. She was living in Arizona at the time and I would get the patterns and she would sew them. She now gets patterns and surprises me with new Packer costumes. We just like anything Disney or Characters from fairy tales and she makes them come alive, making them in Packer colors. I have had hundreds of pictures taken at Lambeau and so many compliments. They all are my favorite s, but if I have to pick one, it would be Mickey the Packer mouse. I always smile and say, we love our Pack and Cheese, when I get my picture taken.
Q: What is the meaning behind the sign you carry, “Believe”?
A: The meaning behind Believe, is when I first started with the Packer Angel the sign said Believe and I Believe in our Pack and I BELIEVE we are going to the Super bowl and will win the 50th. It means never ever give up on our Pack, even though at times we were down, I always said Believe in our Pack
Q: Do you attend all the home games at Lambeau Field?
A: I do attend most home games, I have only missed a few in the last couple of years, due to family illness, and I have watched a few at the Stadium View in Green Bay WI. Well worth the 2 hour drive.
Q: Tell us about greeting the fans from opposing teams when you are Lambeau Field?
A: When I was at Lambeau or Stadium View, I thought boy would it be nice if you were at someone else\’s Stadium and we\’re greeted by the opposing fan, so 17 years ago, I started doing that. I go up to the opposing fans at Lambeau and Stadium View before the game and I say welcome to Lambeau. They always say, you have the nicest fans and will definitely come back. Philly fans were in town and I went up to some of them and put my hand out to greet them, I said welcome to Lambeau, they said “What did you say?”, I repeat myself. They said we would spit on you in our Stadium. I said we don’t do that here and I said welcome and walked away. They came after me and said Thank you so much, you guys are very classy here and we will be back. I have so many stories.
Q: Do you have any game day rituals?
A: I have one game rituals. Put a lot of my Packer signs in the window at the Arena Motel, where we have been staying for 15 year Go Pack Go on one side and Believe on the other side.
Any last words you\’d like to say to the Packer Nation?
My last words to Packer Nation is, no matter what happens, never ever give up on your Pack and Always BELIEVE. As The Great Vince Lombardi said the greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising after you fall. Believe Believe Believe.
I started going with my husband many years ago, but he likes to watch them at home, so my best friend of over 45 years, we go to all the Packer games, we chuckle and say she is my manager. She holds all my stuff, while people take pictures. Her name is Linda and if sometimes I am not starting to believe, she says, Mary Kay Believe and I do. I want to thank you guys. You are the first people I have told my story to, I will be 60 in October and I have Fibromyalgia and don\’t know how many games I will be able to go to. When it started 17 years ago, my friend Patti and I were dressed up as Packer Angels and we\’re on Johnson Brat commercial at Lambeau. By greetings the opposing fans. My friend Linda and I are friends with people all over the world. God Bless you all.
