Packers’ season ends as turnovers and sloppy play became their undoing
The Packers fell 22-10 to the Eagles to end their season.
It didn’t start out well for the Packers as Keisean Nixon fumbled the opening kickoff. The Eagles would score a touchdown on that drive. The Packers never could get much going on offense, but Josh Jacobs had a powerful run and would score on the next play to make it 16-10 Philly, but the Eagles answered with 2 field goals to help them secure the victory.
Thoughts about this game:
Jordan Love’s 3 interceptions certainly didn’t help matters, although I thought the last one was pass interference that they didn’t call. Anyway, the defense kept the Packers in the game for the most part. It was just frustrating for the offense not to get anything going.
After having a great regular season, Brandon McManus missed a field goal. That didn’t help matters either. It was a bad time for all of these mistakes. The Eagles are too good of a team not to capitalize on your opportunities.
The Packers now have work to do during their offseason, which sadly has already begun. I’m sure they will focus on improving their pass rush and perhaps adding some offensive line depth. They probably will need to add a receiver or two as well.
Another area where the Packers must improve is their play within the division. You can’t expect to go 1-5 vs divisional opponents and then make a deep playoff run. I don’t think the Packers are very far off from the Lions or Vikings, but they have to start getting wins vs those teams.
It was a frustrating way to end the season, but I will always support the team, win or lose. I look for them to do whatever it takes to make the team better and go on a Super Bowl run in the very near future. It is always a sad ending when they don’t win it all, but I think our year is coming very soon. Take care Packer fans!
