Packers invade the Motor City as they look to take down Lions
The Packers look to keep the wins coming as they visit the Motor City to take on the Detroit Lions this Thursday night.
Both teams are coming off Thanksgiving Day wins. The Packers are 9-3 after their 30-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins while the Lions are 11-1 after surviving 23-20 vs the Chicago Bears.
Jared Goff is having a spectacular season. David Montgomery and Amon-Ra St. Brown make this offense tough to stop. The Packers need to get off the field on defense. If they don’t show up to play, the Lions could put up 40 or 50 points very easily.
Jordan Love has the offense playing very well. They have not turned over the ball at all in their last 2 games. Let’s see it continue. They need to get touchdowns and not field goals.
Detroit has established itself as one of the best teams in the league, if not the best, and they are a true Super Bowl contender, although teams such as the Eagles and Vikings might have a say in it. The Packers just might too. The Lions have shown themselves to be beatable as the Texans and the Bears came very close. Only Tampa Bay has managed to get a win vs the Lions this year and they did it in Detroit.
The Lions have some injury problems right now, especially on defense. The Packers might be facing them at the right time. They have to play a full 60 minutes though. You know the coach likes to take chances too. The Packers need to be ready for anything and everything. Just because they stop Detroit on 3rd down doesn’t mean the drive is over.
The Packers have had a decent year so far, but a win over Detroit would be the biggest one yet if they can get it done. They won in Detroit on Thanksgiving last year, and they can do it again. Let’s get this game and have a great celebration!
