It’s a clash between divisional foes as the Lions visit Lambeau
The Packers will look to keep their winning streak going as they host the Detroit Lions at 3:25pm (Central Time) on Sunday.
The Packers are 6-2 after winning 30-27 at Jacksonville last Sunday, while the Lions are 6-1 after their 52-14 home win over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday.
Jared Goff has really settled in nicely for the Lions and is playing some incredible football. Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery make quite a rushing tandem and Amon-Ra St. Brown gets it done at receiver and Sam LaPorta at tight end. This is a powerful offense. The Packers will have their hands full with this team. They found a way to get it done last Thanksgiving. They can do it again. This Lions’ team is much better than the team last year in my opinion. Then again, so are the Packers.
Jordan Love will try to play on Sunday. If not, Malik Willis will have to manage the offense. Josh Jacobs is listed on the injury report as well. They need to move the ball and get touchdowns. Field goals won’t cut it against this team. Avoid the turnovers and get points, lots of them.
Brandon McManus hit 2 game-winners in his 2 games with the team. It just might come down to that again if the Packers can keep it a close game with Detroit. The Lions have a head coach who likes to take chances and go the unconventional route. The Packers need to be ready for anything and everything at all times. They cannot take a snap off.
Dan Campbell turned the Lions’ fortunes around quickly. His talk about biting kneecaps and all that has paid off. He isn’t afraid to take risks and that has both helped him and hurt him in the process. This might very well be the best team in the NFC right now. They can be beaten though. Tampa Bay did it and the Los Angeles Rams almost did it. The Packers can certainly do it. They just need to play 60 minutes and clean up their mistakes.
It’s been quite a while since the Lions entered the season with such high expectations. They destroyed the Cowboys and Titans, won at Minnesota, which was unbeaten at the time, and is the only team in the NFC with just 1 loss. Every other team in the entire NFL has at least 2 losses except for Kansas City, which is a perfect 7-0. The Lions expect to be playing in the Super Bowl this February. They almost made it last year.
The Packers have a chance on Sunday to tone down that Super Bowl chatter by Detroit. It will certainly be a task to get this win, but they have defied the odds in recent memory before. Whether you will be at the game or not, let’s get behind this team and cheer the Packers to victory on Sunday.
