Joey T\'s DHPF of the Month

December 2016

We are proud to announce, Reyne Kasieta from Kronenwetter, WI

Reyne Kasieta

Name: Reyne Kasieta

Currently resides in: Kronenwetter, WI

Q: What city/state were you born and raised?

A: I was born and raised in Hurley, WI.  I lived there for 18 years, then went to college in LaCrosse.

Q: What is your earliest memory of being a DHPF?

A: My earliest memory is from 1997 when I traveled to Superbowl XXXI in New Orleans.  That was my very first Packer game.  I looked at my husband and said, \” I could get into this!\”

Q: Tell us about your food tables. How much work goes into preparing those every week?

A: I start preparing food a week in advance.  The tables include suckers, cakes, cookies, dips and appetizers that are decorated in green and gold. Of course the table cloths are Green and Gold as well.  Scott Schwartz makes sure that I have enough room to set out 2-3 tables.  I do have an outstanding tailgating game in October when I have 5 tables set up with Halloween themed food. I also set out a tip jar. My 9 year old grandson has Type 1 Diabetes, so the money from the tip jar goes to JDRF (Junior Diabetes Research Foundation). That alone, makes it all worth it.

Q: You never seem to miss a game and you always bring a large group of family and friends.  How do you manage to coordinate that every week?

A: Communication is definitely the key!  I set up a departure time where everyone has to meet at my house.  We carpool and head to Lambeau Field from there.

Q: How long does it take you to drive from Wausau every game?

A: The drive from Wausau to Green Bay is roughly 1 1/2 hours.  We make one quick stop along the way to gas up and pick up anything that we may have forgotten.

Q: What would you say is the single most rewarding part of tailgating at Lambeau in your experience?

A: I really enjoy meeting tremendous amounts of new people. So many of them have  become very good friends. The connection everyone has in Lot 1 is unexplainable.  Once you attend a home game and tailgate with us you can’t help but have certain connection for years to come.  We all share the same passion for our Green Bay Packers.

Q: Some say you hold the reputation as the #1 mom in Lot 1.  Would you agree?

A: Absolutely! Everyone in Lot 1 calls me mom.  I guess it’s because we bring such large amounts of food.  So I guess it goes with the territory 🙂

Q: You always set up your tailgate opposite of Scott Schwartz.  How did you meet Scott and how long does that relationship go back?

A: Scott and I met in 2002.  We both parked near the sidewalk for our tailgating party.  We started talking and have become good friends.  It\’s been a Lot 1 family ever since! Not many people can say they tailgated with the same group for 16 straight years.  It’s really quite incredible how that has evolved.

Q: When the tailgate gets going dozens of people end up dancing in the bed of your truck every week.  Where did you learn your epic dance moves?

A: (Ha! Ha!) My husband!

Q: You recently had the privilege of attending Brett Favre\’s enshrinement ceremony at the Hall of Fame.  What was that like?

A: It was fantastic and a memory that I will never forget. Of course we brought Lot 1 to Canton.  We wouldn’t have it any other way. It was so great to see all the Packer fans supporting Brett. He turned this organization around.  It was a 12 hour drive but was well worth it!

Q: How did you become such a serious Packer fan?

A: I started watching the Packer games with my dad as a little girl. My dad played college football and was selected to play for the New York Giants.  So it’s safe to say I was born into the game of football. The only bummer was he got drafted and had to go off to war.

Q: How may Packer games do you attend a year?

A: I attend every home game and usually 1-2 games out of state.

Q: Who is your all time favorite player?

A: I have 2 favorite players- Reggie White and Donald Driver.

Q: Who is your favorite player now and why?

A: I really like Jordy Nelson because of his work ethic and his perseverance from coming back from his knee injury.  He just seems like such a humble loving man.  Always smiling and happy.  I love that about him.

Q: Do you have any game day rituals/superstitions?

A: Yes, if Gary (DHPF) lights the charcoal grill using one 1 match, then the Packers are going to win! (It worked for Seattle.)

Q: Any last words you\’d like to say to the Packer Nation?

A: If you\’re ever at a Packer game, enjoy it for what it is, have fun, meet new friends and always cheer for the Pack!  Go Pack Go!
