Packers belted by Bucs at Lambeau
The Packers fell to 6-8 and are currently out of the playoff picture after their 34-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Packers took a 7-3 lead after forcing a fumble, but TB answered back quickly and went into halftime leading 13-10. It didn’t get any better for the Packers in the second half, especially on defense. Despite that early fumble, Baker Mayfield had a field day, throwing for 388 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Thoughts about this game:
The offense had their moments for GB. Jordan Love had a fairly decent game, but the defense, especially the pass defense, was virtually nonexistent.
It was a very disappointing showing for the team, especially after coming off that tough loss to the Giants on Monday night. After impressive wins at Detroit and vs Kansas City, the Packers took a huge step back.
The Bucs deserve credit. They played like a team looking to get into the playoffs and the Packers did not. Unless the Packers have a much better defensive showing, they may not win another game until next season.
The Packers now have to regroup as they hit the road for two games. They face 2-12 Carolina on the road next Sunday. The Panthers are not a good team at all, but they did win 9-7 at home vs Atlanta. Any team can beat you if you don’t have a good defense, and right now, the Packers do not.
It’s typical of a young team like the Packers to have ups and downs and growing pains. We’ll see if they figure enough out to get past Carolina next week. Take care Packer fans!
