Packers look to tune up for the playoffs as they face the Bears
The Packers begin their push for the playoffs, but first, they battle the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field at Noon Central Time.
The Packers are 11-5 after falling 27-25 at Minnesota. The Bears are a miserable 4-12, having lost 10 straight, including a 6-3 home loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
Caleb Williams has had an up and down season despite their horrible record. His long interception-free streak came to an end on their final offensive play vs Seattle. There is no reason why the Packers shouldn’t generate a pass rush vs this team. The Packers need to make a stand and play some defense. The Bears made some plays at home, but they are coming into Lambeau Field. It’s time to set the tone and dominate. Get some turnovers and sack the quarterback.
Jordan Love is having a nice interception-free streak of his own so far. We need it to continue. We also need Josh Jacobs and the rest of the running backs to have a great performance running the football. Let’s shove the football down their throats and score touchdowns all afternoon. Let’s run up the score on these Munsters of the Midway.
Special teams saved the game the last time these teams met. Karl Brooks is beloved by us Packer fans for blocking that field goal at Soldier Field. Let’s hope it doesn’t come down to that type of play this time, but I wouldn’t mind seeing another blocked kick in this game. Let’s win the battle of field position. I want every advantage the Packers can get.
The Packers are currently in the #7 spot. If they win and the Commanders lose to the Cowboys, they move up to the #6 spot and avoid the Eagles in the first round. No matter what, just play well and develop some good habits because they are in the playoffs regardless. Besides, it’s always fun to beat the Bears. They have done it 11 games in a row. Why not keep it going?
The Bears are winding down a miserable season. They were actually 4-2 at one point. Their last victory wasn’t even in this country as they routed Jacksonville in London. Their downfall began when they lost on their version of the “Fail Mary” vs the Commanders on the road. It got so bad that they fired their head coach during the season for the first time in franchise history. Their latest loss at home vs Seattle was the lowest-scoring game of the season so far. Fans were chanting, “Sell the team” toward the end of the game. Matt LaFleur said they will be playing their starters because they want to get some positive momentum going for the playoffs. There is no reason why they should lose this game.
It’s a rivalry though and a bitter one at that. Be ready for anything and everything the Bears throw at you. The Commanders and Cowboys will be playing at the same time, so there will be some scoreboard watching going on. The Packers just need to control what they can control, and that’s playing their game and getting a win over their neighbors down south. Let’s dominate and enter the playoffs on a high note. Wherever you are, let’s make our voices heard and cheer our team to victory this Sunday!
