Packers look to wrap up a playoff spot as they host the Saints on Monday night
The Packers conclude their wave of prime time games as they host the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.
The Packers are 10-4 after their 30-13 road victory vs the Seattle Seahawks. The Saints are 5-9 after losing 20-19 at home vs the Washington Commanders.
Derek Carr is injured for the Saints and they will be starting Spencer Rattler. I had to look him up too, and he is not a household name, but that’s what can make him dangerous. This team has nothing to lose. They are not officially eliminated from playoff contention as of yet, but they are hanging by a thread. They will pull out all the stops. The Packers need to be ready for anything and everything by this team.
Jordan Love has gone 4 straight games without an interception or a lost fumble. He is heating up at the right time. Let’s keep this offense rolling and set the tone early. We don’t want the Saints to think they have any chance of making a game of it on Monday night.
After the first 2 weeks of the season, the Saints looked like perhaps the best team in the NFC. They would go on to lose their next 7 games and fire their head coach. They have won 3 of their last 5, and this loss to the Commanders came because they failed on a 2-point conversion at the end of the game. The Packers can’t take anything for granted on Monday night.
These teams met at Lambeau Field last season. If you remember, Jordan Love was making his first career start at home. The team fell behind 17-0 before rallying for 18 points in the 4th quarter to win it. Hopefully it won’t take anything like that to get a victory this time around.
This will be their first game at Lambeau Field in almost a month. The fans will be ready. Let’s get this win and then we can celebrate this wonderful time of the year with a victory!
