Packers head West to take on the Rams
The Packers hit the road this weekend as they face the Los Angeles Rams in the late afternoon on Sunday.
The Packers are 2-2 after falling 31-29 to the Vikings last Sunday, while the Rams are 1-3 after a 24-18 loss to the Bears at Soldier Field.
Matthew Stafford is still going strong, although he has just 2 touchdown passes on the year so far. Kyren Williams has only 258 rushing yards but has 5 rushing touchdowns. Stafford has been sacked 13 times already this season. Let’s get after him. The Rams are in the middle of the pack when it comes to total offense. Let’s keep them from establishing any kind of rhythm. Keep getting those takeaways.
Jordan Love had 4 touchdowns but 3 interceptions last Sunday. He has another game under his belt and hopefully has found his stride. The Packers have 2 rushing touchdowns this season, 1 by Malik Willis and 1 by Jayden Reed. The Rams are last in the league in rushing defense. The Packers need to take advantage of that with their running game. That will set up the deep passing game. They had too many turnovers last week. They need to protect the ball and get it into the endzone.
Brayden Narveson needs to come up huge. Hopefully the Packers are in a position where they are scoring touchdowns and not settling for field goals, but he has to prove he can make them on a consistent basis. The team is already looking for other kickers on the market. NFL means “Not for long,” which is what happens when you don’t produce.
The Packers have won 9 of their last 10 games with the Rams, including 4 straight. Those 4 straight all came in the last 4 seasons, including their playoff victory, with all 4 games being played at Lambeau Field. The last loss to the Rams came in 2018 on a heartbreaking fumble late in the game.
The loss to the Vikings stings, but it’s now time for the team to put that behind them and look forward to playing the Rams. Let’s have a good showing and get back on the winning track. I’m sure there will be plenty of fans cheering for the Packers in the stadium. Stafford might even have to go to a silent snap count. He also better watch where Xavier McKinney is on the field. He has 4 interceptions on the year, 1 in each game so far. Let’s get another one for him.
Whether you are making the trip to the Pacific Time Zone or are watching it in the bar or restaurant or with family and friends or even alone, let’s make our voices heard and cheer our team to victory on Sunday.
