Packers welcome the undefeated Vikings to Lambeau
The Packers look to take down the unbeaten Minnesota Vikings when the two teams meet up at Lambeau Field for a Noon (Central Time) kickoff this Sunday.
The Packers are 2-1 after their 30-14 road win vs the Titans last Sunday. The Vikings are 3-0 after a dominant 34-7 home win vs the Texans last Sunday.
After it was announced that rookie J.J. McCarthy would miss the entire season, Sam Darnold was pushed into the starting lineup, and he has delivered so far. Aaron Jones makes his return to Green Bay and is looking to leap into the stands if he scores. Let’s prevent that from happening. Let’s also prevent Justin Jefferson from having a monster game. This is a tough offense to stop, but the Packers’ defense has been playing well. We will need those sacks and turnovers to keep coming.
Malik Willis played well these last two games filling in for Jordan Love. It is unclear at this moment which quarterback will start, but Love has made a lot of progress, and he might be ready on Sunday. Josh Jacobs will certainly be ready. Whoever is taking the snaps, let’s keep that offense moving, and don’t give the ball back until it reaches the endzone.
The Packers have 7 interceptions on the year so far, the same number they had all of last year in the regular season. The Vikings can take the ball away too. They have 5 on the year. Both quarterbacks need to watch out where they throw the ball. Another thing we could see on Sunday is both quarterbacks hitting the turf because the Vikings have 16 sacks and the Packers have 11 on the season.
Perhaps the team that wins on Sunday will lose when the teams play in Minnesota later this season as the teams have split the season series the previous 4 years. The records of the two teams haven’t meant much when they’ve faced each other. It’s going to come down to which team makes the plays on Sunday.
The Vikings have certainly played well the first 3 games of the season. The Jets and Panthers are probably wondering why Sam Darnold couldn’t play like this when he was on their rosters. Aaron Jones says he is having a lot of fun in Minnesota. He is saying the right things and talking about his appreciation for the time he spent in Green Bay, but he still wants to have a big game and jump into the stands on Sunday. The Packers have been playing well in these last 2 wins too, even though Jordan Love missed these games.
It should be a very competitive game this Sunday. It will be a Gold Package game, which will be the case for all of the divisional opponents this season. Wherever you are, let’s make our voices heard as we cheer the team to victory!
