Packers look for their first road win of the season as they visit Tennessee
The Packers hit the road for a Week 3 matchup with the Tennessee Titans at Noon Central Time on Sunday.
The Packers are 1-1 after defeating the Indianapolis Colts 16-10 last Sunday. The Titans are 0-2 after losing 24-17 at home to the New York Jets, Tennessee’s second straight loss by that exact same score.
Quarterback Will Levis can be efficient as his 63% completion percentage shows, but he has no wins to show for it this year so far. Tony Pollard is a familiar name from his time with the Cowboys. Calvin Ridley made a name for himself with the Falcons, and DeAndre Hopkins made big plays with the Texans and the Cardinals. The Packers did a decent job with Tennessee’s division rival Indianapolis last week. Let’s keep getting interceptions and get off the field.
Jordan Love or Malik Willis? Love has indicated that he is close to returning. Willis will be facing his former team should he get the start. Whoever is in the lineup will likely have to deal with a patchwork offensive line. Josh Jacobs was a workhorse vs the Colts last week. Anything close to that this week will be a huge boost for the offense. We need more touchdowns. I think the Packers will need more than 16 points to get a win this weekend.
Punter Daniel Whelan made some nice punts in the game last week vs Indy, especially that last one to pin them back deep. Kicker Brayden Narveson is another former Titan who will be facing his former team? Does he have a winning kick in him? Hopefully it won’t come to that. He has a strong leg but his accuracy is a bit of a question mark as he missed a field goal in each of the first two games this season. He just needs to make them on a consistent basis to keep the fans and critics off his back.
We shall see about Jordan Love. There was some talk about him possibly being available to play vs the Colts, but that wasn’t realistic. It’s a bit more reasonable to think he might play vs the Titans, but as I mentioned before, the offensive line is dealing with injuries. Whoever it is will need to make quick decisions and get the ball out quickly. Hopefully nobody throws up on the ball this week either.
Matt LaFleur had a great game plan last week. Now he needs to show that he can do it again, no matter who the quarterback will be on Sunday. Let’s come to Tennessee and get this road win and keep going from there!
