Packers look to continue dominance over Bears
The Packers play their bitter rival, the Chicago Bears, at Soldier Field at Noon Central Time on Sunday.
The Packers are 4-8 after losing 40-33 to the Philadelphia Eagles on the road last Sunday night. The Bears are 3-9 after also losing on the road, 31-10 to the New York Jets last Sunday.
It is unclear whether Justin Fields will play for the Bears. The Packers are planning as if he will be playing. If so, they had better come up with a much more effective game plan than what they had vs Jalen Hurts and the Eagles last week. This Bears’ team can run the football just as effectively. The Packers surrendered a lot of rushing yards in their Week 2 matchup with the Bears. If they don’t make adjustments, they will get run over once again and maybe even lose this time.
Aaron Rodgers isn’t ready to call it a season quite yet. Even though he has a lot of nagging injuries, he wants to play if he is cleared to do so. Jordan Love made some nice throws vs the Eagles, and there is no reason why he can’t do it again if called upon for a full game. The Bears are a team you can run against. They need to get that running game going early and often, much like they did against the Cowboys. If they do that, the passing game will open up. Christian Watson has become a touchdown machine these last 3 games. Let’s continue to get him the ball, especially in the open field.
Since Matt LaFleur took over, the Packers have not lost to the Bears. They have had an incredible stretch of success against their most bitter rivals. It can’t last forever, but it hasn’t stopped yet. As much as the Packers have struggled, our rivals to the south have struggled even more this year.
Rodgers is going to tough it out, at least as long as they have a chance at the playoffs. He is likely going to hear it from the crowd, especially since it will be his first game back in Chicago after famously telling the fans in the crowd that he still owns them. Will the Packers own another victory? I think they will be good enough to do so. Let’s dominate on Sunday and keep fighting the rest of the season!
