Packers roll past Giants 31-13, improve to 9-3.
This was definitely a David vs Goliath game, except that the differences were that the Giants, in this case, were David, and Goliath won. This game was close at halftime, with the Packers holding a seven-point lead at 17-10. The Packers then outscored New York 14-3 in the second half. Rodgers was stellar in the first half, going 6/7 for 108 yards and 2 touchdowns. He finished the day 21/33 for 243 yards, 4 touchdowns, and a 125.4 passer rating, it was his 3rd game this season with a passer rating above 120, and his 4th above 100. WR Allen Lazard had his first career 100-yard game as well, catching a total of three passes for 103 total yards and 1 touchdown, good for 34.3 YPR. WR Davante Adams also got it going catching six passes for 64 total yards and 2 touchdowns.
Defensively, Green Bay rattled and rocked quarterback Daniel Jones. He finished the day going 20/37 for 240 yards, 1 touchdown, and 3 interceptions along with a 49.4 passer rating. The first came from CB Kevin King, the second came from S Darnell Savage, and the third came from CB Tramon Williams. This was a great game for the secondary and defense as a whole as they only ended up giving up a total of 13 points, along with forcing three turnovers. Yes, the Giants are a reeling team, but it’s definitely nice to get Green Bay back on track heading home for a game against the Washington Redskins.
A year ago at this time, Green Bay was 5-7-1 coming off of a losing season. Fast forward a year later, they’re 9-3 atop the NFC North and primed for a playoff push under a first-year head coach. Green Bay’s culture, team comradery, and play on the field have definitely taken a step in the right direction. Matt LaFleur has been a great head coach thus far for them and has in the process; changed them for the better. What a difference a year makes. Let’s finish off strong heading into the postseason.
