Love Is Green and Gold At Lambeau!
Q) How did you and Leslie meet?
A) We started dating the day the 1919 Bar opened at Lambeau Field. It was soon after I met Leslie when I realized her whole family were Cheeseheads. A few years ago my in-laws built their Packer dream room in the loft of their pole barn. My Father-in-law grew up in WI. We always have family and friends over unless we attend the game.
Q) When did you become such huge fans?
A) I became a huge fan when I was a little boy. I watched the white out game that Brett Favre, Gilbert Brown and Reggie White played in. I became a Cheesehead way back in 1993. Gilbert Brown(The gravedigger) was my favorite player of all time. He’s been my role model since I was little. Yet all the times I’ve been to Green Bay, I haven’t had the chance to meet him yet.
Q) When did you propose to Leslie?
A) I proposed on Jan 3, 2016 at the Viking game.
Q) How did you prepare your wedding at Lambeau?
A) We don’t like doing the same thing as everyone else. We wanted to do something different and crazy for our wedding. So we decided all the guys should wear Jeans, Game Jerseys and custom Packer converse that I made for them. My best man got the captain’s patch. Of course, I had the Packers suite with the G logo’s on it.
The lady’s all got to wear v-neck Packer shirts with game bib skirts. Leslie’s dress was custom made with a Green and Gold tie down the back, Packers patch and some Green and Gold stones as well.
Q) Who helped with arranging the wedding?
A) My in laws best friends were the master and mistress who took care of a lot of the arrangements. Also, the mistress is one of my high school teachers. The event people at Lambeau where just great. They helped us in every way they could. Fortunately, we had a friend that brought his girlfriend that took all the pictures for us. The photos turned out great. A huge thanks to all the help from my in laws. You did so much for us.
Q) How many people showed up for the wedding?
A) We had around 75 family and friends show up. We started celebration on the Thursday night game against the Bears. There was about 25 of us that went to the game Oct 16. Then we had the wedding on Oct 22.
Q) Where did you celebrate after the wedding?
A) After the wedding we had a tailgate reception in the parking lot of the Tundra Lodge. We just grilled out with brats and hotdogs. In the spring we plan on having a bigger tailgate party/ reception with everyone that didn’t make it. We couldn’t be happier with the way the wedding turned out. Not many couples can say they got married at Lambeau. It was a dream come true.
Congratulations Chris and Leslie StAmour!
